  1. Great little details in the last panel:

-Soviet Union holding the Franco-Soviet Mutual Assistance treaty

-Italy dressing up as a Zulu warrior

-France, thirsty for Eastern allies, being injected with [Franco-Polish alliance ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco-Polish_alliance_(1921)) (also may I remind you guys that France supported Poland during the Soviet-Polish war of 1919 and it was after this war that this alliance was formed)

  2. Context: The Stresa Front, meant to prevent further violations of the Treaty of Versailles from Germany, failed spectacularly. It fell apart quickly, first with Britain signing the Anglo-German Naval Agreement. France showed bad faith when it signed the Franco-Soviet Treaty of Mutual Assistance, the latest in a string of treaties with newfound eastern “friends”. Finally, the Stresa Front was pummeled into its grave when Italy invaded Abyssinia.
