  1. Fun fact: It was called the spanish flu because Spain was the first country to report it in great scale. They were a neutral country in ww1, so news of the flu wouldn’t “hurt the war morale”.

    The first documented case was actually in the USA, and the disease most likely started in China.

    On the overladen boats the doughboys took to Europe, there were many cases of over half the soldiers being infected before reaching shore, and they would often walk around on blood and puke covered floors. (Coughing blood and even pieces of your loung was a part of late stage flu).
